Irish Transport Trust Bus & Coach Show 2011 This year we attended with three vehicles at the Irish Transport Trust's annual bus & coach show, held on the grounds of the Ulster Folk & Transport museum in Holywood, Belfast. This year we attended with one preserved vehicle, Mark Byrnes Ulsterbus B10M engined Alexander N-type 1320, and two in-service vehicles running with Coastal Coaches and Donohoe Coaches who sponsored our attendance at the event. 92-OY-1883 is a Volvo B10M engined Plaxton Premier 320, new to Scotish Citylink and now operating with Donohoe Coaches. 96-W-1542 is a Mercedes 0611D Eurobodied minibus, new to O'Hara tours now operating with Coastal Coaches. We wish to express our thanks to Pat Moss of Ulsterbus who allowed us to overnight our vehicles in Belfast, the organisers of the event, the Irish Transport Trust. It was an outstanding show, and we're looking forward to next year.
We departed base on Friday evening after a rendez-vous in the yard to give the vehicles a wash and make preparations prior to making our way up to Belfast..
We overnighted the vehicles at Ulsterbus' Milewater Road depot on Friday night, with thanks to Pat Moss, before departing to the event at 9:30am.
Upon arrival at the event 92-OY-1883 and 96-W-1542 were placed in the Independant section of the rally, whilst 1320 was parked in the Ulsterbus display.
Old meets new. 1320, an "N-type" Tiger is parked beside Kells Transport Museum's 1400 "Q-type" Tiger, both vehicles are identical underneath, with the Q-type being the successor to the N-type.
